Module 1: Teens & Brain Conditions (5/3-5/9)

After completing Module 1, you'll be able to :

Describe the symptoms of adolescent brain conditions
Explain how the symptoms of brain conditions contribute to common family issues.

Module 2: The Problem Solving Process (5/10-5/16)

After completing Module 2, you'll be able to :

List the steps of the Family Problem-Solving process (Aim, Brainstorm, Choose, Do It, Evaluate)
Describe the purpose of each step of the problem solving process and the procedures involved
Apply the Family Problem Solving process to a specific problem

Module 3: Conducting Teletherapy (5/17-5/24)

After completing Module 3, you'll be able to :

Execute the steps involved in setting up, starting and ending a Zoom call
Conduct the therapeutic procedures of a Family Problem Solving Therapy session
Employ troubleshooting techniques for technical issues and other problems that commonly interrupt telehealth sessions

Your achievement of the learning outcomes of each module will be assessed after you've completed that module's activities. The first module will culminate in a written assessment where you will write a journal entry from the point of view of a teen with a brain condition. At the end of Module 2 you will apply the steps of Family Problem Solving to an example problem, and also complete an exercise focusing on the first step. The culminating assessment for the course will be a roleplay where you will conduct a Family Problem Solving Therapy session with your group members.
